How we value offices
We use the rental valuation method to value offices.
This method assesses the rateable value based on evidence of actual rents agreed between landlords and tenants, broken down to a price per square metre.
We measure the office′s net internal area and then apply the price per square metre to arrive at the rateable value. We′ll also factor in the availability of additional facilities such as car park spaces or air conditioning.
If there are multiple occupiers of an office block, we′ll value the area let to each occupier and factor in which floor of the building they are in.
