You are on the rating appeal help page for:
There is a different occupier in the property.
This type of issue can often be resolved by contacting your local valuation office. You will need to find your property first, if you haven′t already done so.
We assess the rateable value based on the property, not the occupier.
A change in occupier may only affect the rateable value if the property has changed use. For example, an office that has become a retail space, or an industrial warehouse that becomes a retail warehouse. This is because we use a different valuation method for certain types of property.
You don′t need to inform us of a change of occupier, but you should contact your local council so that they can calculate the bill for each occupier.
Has the property changed use?
You do not need to submit an appeal to tell us the use of the property has changed. You can review the current description of the property and send any amendments to us online. We will check the details.
