This type of issue can often be resolved by contacting your local valuation office. You will need to find your property first, if you haven′t already done so.
Whether you can appeal on these grounds depends on the extent of the work.
- If the work is on-going repairs/maintenance then we will not adjust the rateable value.
- If the work includes improvements and structural works that make the property – or part of it – incapable of occupation then we will consider adjusting the rateable value for the duration of the work.
If you do appeal on these grounds you should to provide details of the work, including the start and completion dates.
