You are on the rating appeal help page for:

My property has a specific disadvantage

This type of issue can often be resolved by contacting your local valuation office

If you think your property has a specific disadvantage that we have not reflected in your rateable value, you will need to provide reasons why you think this is the case.

What is a specific disadvantage?

A specific disadvantage is something that is unique to your property and will reduce the rental value of it compared to similar properties in the area. Examples might include:

  • A narrow frontage
  • Poor visibility, as a result of the property structure, of the retail space from the street
  • Inconvenient layout of accommodation
  • Poor or restricted vehicular access.

We may already include the disadvantage when we assessed your rateable value. If so, it will be listed as an adjustment to the rateable value.
