National Ratepayers Forum - National Ratepayers Forum recommends the Valuation Office Rating Contact (VORC) Scheme as the preferred method of bulk provision of information to the VOA. They recognise the VORC scheme as an important cost saving, mutually beneficial (for the VOA and clients) feature of data collection. The benefits of using the VORC scheme have been highlighted in a recent report.

Between 27 June and 13 July we received a small number of reports from people who had not received acknowledgement emails relating to electronically submitted appeals.
This problem occurred because the ratinglists.voa.gov.uk domain was removed on 27 June as part of a VOA IT Upgrade. This meant some email systems rejected these emails because they detected there was no longer a ratinglists.voa.gov.uk domain.
This problem only affected those agents whose email systems checked the recipient was a trusted sender. This issue was fixed on the evening of the 13 July and our Network Support Offices have been contacting the agents involved to reissue any missing acknowledgements. We also identified that this will have affected emailed programming letters and these letters are being re-transmitted centrally today.
Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience caused.
